For trekkers who want the best of both worlds, this 7-day combination trek pairs the scenic, beginner-friendly Kuari Pass (12,516 ft) with the challenging summit push to Pangarchulla Peak (15,069 ft) - both starting and ending near Joshimath in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. The route takes you through dense oak forests, wide alpine meadows and snowfields, culminating in two distinct high-altitude experiences: a wide panoramic pass, and a genuine mountaineering-style summit.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Drive from Dehradun/Rishikesh to Joshimath

A full day's drive from Dehradun/Rishikesh to Joshimath, the base town for both treks. Evening briefing on the days ahead.

Day 2 : Drive to Dhak Village & Trek to Gulling

A short drive to Dhak village, followed by a trek through oak and rhododendron forest to the Gulling campsite.

Day 3 : Trek from Gulling to Khullara Campsite

The trail opens into wide meadows en route to the scenic Khullara campsite, base for both summit attempts.

Day 4 : Trek to Kuari Pass Viewpoint & Back to Khullara

A trek up to the Kuari Pass viewpoint (12,516 ft) for a 180-degree view of Mt. Nanda Devi and Dronagiri, before returning to Khullara for acclimatization ahead of the main summit push.

Day 5 : Summit Day - Pangarchulla Peak & Return to Khullara

A pre-dawn start for the Pangarchulla Peak summit push (15,069 ft) - a steep, snow-and-scramble climb rewarding climbers with an exceptionally wide Himalayan panorama, before returning to Khullara.

Day 6 : Trek down from Khullara to Dhak & Drive to Joshimath

Descend through forest trails back to Dhak village, then drive to Joshimath for an overnight stay.

Day 7 : Drive back from Joshimath to Dehradun/Rishikesh

Drive back from Joshimath to Dehradun/Rishikesh, arriving by evening.
